Puppy Linux 5.7 "Precise" 發布，非常小的Linux發行

Puppy Linux是另外一種Linux發行。它的不同之處在于，Puppy是格外的小，然而又充滿了特性。Puppy能從64M的存儲設備啟動，并且，整套系統 都能在內存中運行。有很多自啟動運行光盤的Linux發行，它們需要不停地從光盤讀取數據才能運行，Puppy與它們不一樣，Puppy整個裝載在內存 中。這意味著，所有的應用程序一眨眼的功夫就能啟動，并且立即對用戶的輸入作出響應。Puppy Linux能從flash卡或者是任何的USB存儲設備啟動（這是flash-Puppy），或者光盤（這是live-Puppy），或者Zip disk及LS/120/240 Superdisk（這是zippy-Puppy），或者軟盤（這是floppy-Puppy），或者硬盤（這是hard-Puppy）。它甚至可以使用 一張多區段燒錄的CD-R/DVD-R以將所有內容保存回CD/DVD中。

This pup comes in two flavours, one for older hardware and/or those on dial-up Internet, the other for those with relatively modern hardware. The 'retro' flavour is an upgrade path for those who have used our 'Wary' Puppy, that targeted older PCs and analog modem dial-up - unlike most other Linux distributions, it continues to support a wide range of analog winmodems. It also has two web browsers, SeaMonkey and Opera, the latter preferred for PCs with less than 256 MB RAM.</span>"
