Debian 8 發布，代號Jessie

經過24個月的持續開發，Debian項目組正式對外發布了，穩定版的Debian 8，代號為Jessie，將會在接下來的五年里提供支持，并特別感謝了貢獻者： Debian Security 團隊和 Debian Long Term Support 團隊。

Jessie的一大重要變化是默認init系統systemd，可選使用init系統sysvinit。由此帶來了很多新特性：更快的啟動時間、cgroups 服務，以及一些隔離服務。

支持UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface，可很好的支持 Windows 8 or later)，更新默認應用，包括LibreOffice、GIMP、 Iceweasel、GNOME、KDE 和 Xfce 桌面環境等。
