Two of the main raison d’etre of MiniBuilder are : provide a completely free and cross platform alternative for developing ActionScript projects.

FlashDevelop offers first class support for Flash ActionScript (2 and 3) and haXe development:
great and fast code completion & code generation, projects compilation & debugging, plenty of project templates, SWF/SWC exploration, etc.

4) Mtasc

MTASC is the first ActionScript 2 Open Source free compiler.

It can compile large number of .as class files in a very short time and generate directly the corresponding SWF bytecode without relying on Macromedia Flash or other tools.

5) Ming

Ming is a library for generating Macromedia Flash files (.swf), written in C, and includes useful utilities for working with .swf files. It has wrappers that allow it to be used in C++, PHP, Python, Ruby, and Perl.
