Rocket 0.7.0 發布，此版本包括新的 rkt image 子命令，用來操作本地存儲的圖像。同時還添加了新的，基于 autotools 和 SELinux 集成的構建系統。

完整改進：

  • New subcommands for rkt image: extract, render and export

  • Metadata service:

    • Auth now based on tokens

    • Registration done by default, unless --mds-register=false is passed

  • Build:

    • Remove support for Go 1.3

    • Replace build system with autoconf and make

  • Network: fixes for plugins related to mnt namespace

  • Signature: clearer error messages

  • Security:

    • Support for SELinux

    • Check signature before downloading

  • Commands: fix error messages and parameter parsing

  • Output: reduce output verbosity

  • Systemd integration: fix stop bug

  • Tests: Improve tests output

Rocket （也叫 rkt）是 CoreOS 推出的一款容器引擎，和 Docker 類似，幫助開發者打包應用和依賴包到可移植容器中，簡化搭環境等部署工作。Rocket 和 Docker 不同的地方在于，Rocket 沒有 Docker 那些為企業用戶提供的“友好功能”，比如云服務加速工具、集群系統等。反過來說，Rocket 想做的，是一個更純粹的業界標準。

CoreOS 把它的容器稱為 App Containers，里面包含 app container image、runtime、container-discovery 協議等。其中，App Container Image 和 Docker 里的 Image 比較類似，包含應用必需的元素組成，如源代碼和二進制文件。Rocket runtime 則是依照 App Container 標準規格打造的，旨在將容器真正的變成一款命令行工具。
