Git for Windows 2.6.2 發布，同步 Git 2.6.2
msysgit 的開發成員 dscho 從 msysgit fork 后合并 git 官方代碼推出了 git 發行版 git-for-windows,git-for-windows 使用MSYS2 的工具鏈，但是在基本設置上沿襲了 msysgit 的設置，版本比 msysgit 新。
Git for Windows 2.6.2 發布，此版本更新內容如下：新特性

Users who are part of a Windows domain now have sensible default values for
user.nameanduser.email.
Bug 修復

We no longer run out of page file space when
git fetching large repositories. -
The description of Windows' default console is accurate now (the console became more powerful in Windows 10).

Git GUI now respects the terminal emulation chosen at install time when running the Git Bash.
