Anne Nicolas has announced that, after a brief delay, the first beta release of
Mageia 3 is ready testing:

Mageia 3 beta 1 is finally here. This first beta release was a bit tricky as it comes with some major new features in the installer. GRUB 2 has been included as an option. Using DVDs with the classic installer you will be proposed to install some proprietary drivers and/or firmware. Just choose to add 'nonfree' media. QA team is waiting for your bug reports. Please help us to make Mageia 3 meet high-quality level.

This beta release ships with the brand-new Linux kernel 3.7 with systemd 195 and it also includes the second beta of the upcoming KDE 4.10 series and GNOME 3.6.2. Read the
