為什么企鵝 Tux 是 Linux 的吉祥物？

最初，Tux并沒有獲得預想中的贊賞。畢竟，Torvalds是在用一只胖胖的企鵝來和當時最強的公司微軟作對抗。何況Tux并沒有在標識比賽中取勝。但Tux最終在野獸微軟身邊找到了自己的位置，還是多虧了Torvalds：

在2009年，Tux甚至被Tuz替換過，這只來自塔斯馬尼亞的家伙是食肉有袋類動物，抗議著它面臨的滅絕。Tuz由Andrew McGown和Josh Brush設計，在linux.au.conf大會上展出。
